Duetto Unbreakable Miata Rain Rail The PVC Unbreakable Miata Rain Rail is made from highly flexible PVC (polyvinyl chloride) so it won't separate, become brittle, or break!  This is a big improvement over the Mazda factory-supplied (and other plastic and rubber rain rails) which are prone to cracking and separation as they age.

What is a Rain Rail?  A lot of people looking for a new top ask us about the "rain rail."  The Miata rain rail, which is not visible with the top installed, is the piece inside the car that runs across the bottom of the convertible top and works as a rain gutter, draining water out of your Miata. 

If you're replacing your top and your Miata rain rail is significantly cracked or broken, you'll want to install a new rain rail.

On a new top you should also consider installing new Miata top tensioning cables.

Miata Top Tensioning Cables   
 
The Miata convertible top uses spring-loaded tensioning cables on each side of the top that run through pockets around the side windows. The tensioning cables keep the top snug and smooth.  If your top becomes loose around the side windows, the cables will probably need to be replaced.

Usually when installing a new top, the original cables can be re-used (but it's a good idea to replace them just in case).  On a new top you should also consider installing a new Miata rain rail.
